Background

Since 1980 Calloway, Stinson & Co., P.C. has been providing quality, personalized financial guidance to businesses and individuals. Calloway, Stinson & Co.'s expertise ranges from basic tax management and accounting services to more sophisticated professional services such as planning for business start-ups, acquisitions and sales, growth and cash management of existing businesses, and retirement and estate planning for business owners and other financially successful individuals.

Our Philosophy

Calloway, Stinson & Co.'s main emphasis is in identifying our clients' needs and satisfying those needs in a competent and efficient manner. We believe in partner management and involvement for every client during all phases of an engagement. We believe that this in-depth involvement allows us to provide a high level of experience and expertise for every engagement. We are readily available by telephone, email, or in person and welcome personal communication with every client.

Our Team

Jean M. Calloway
Jean M. Calloway, CPA, graduated University of Tennessee, BBA, in 1976 and initially worked in the Dallas office of a national CPA firm. She later transferred to Houston and, in 1980, formed Calloway, Stinson & Co., P.C. (formerly Jean M. Calloway, P.C.). Ms. Calloway has experience in accounting and tax planning for closely held companies and their executives. Ms. Calloway provides expertise in starting up and building companies and help in planning and organizing their entrepreneurial activities. She also brings to the firm experience in estate planning and administration as well as expertise in trust accounting and planning.

Richard M. Stinson
Richard M. Stinson, CPA, graduated University of Texas, MPA, 1967 and began his career with a national "big eight" firm. After becoming a tax partner, he left to practice accounting with Ms. Calloway in the firm of Calloway, Stinson & Co., P.C. Mr. Stinson provides expertise to closely held companies and their owners in business start-ups, acquisitions, and ultimate sales. He also brings to the firm experience in estate and retirement planning as well as foreign investment in the U.S. and international tax planning.

Sharon R. Wastell
Sharon R. Wastell, CPA, Tax Manager, graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri, BSBA (Finance) and from the University of Houston, MBA (Accounting). Before joining the firm in 1994, she worked in customer service for a national finance company and in the accounting department for a small industrial sales rep firm.

Catherine J. Schuetze
Catherine J. Schuetze, CPA, graduated Vanderbilt University, BA, in 2002 and University of Texas, MPA, in 2004. Mrs. Schuetze worked at a national "big four" firm before joining Calloway, Stinson, & Co., P.C. in 2007. Mrs. Schuetze provides tax and accounting services to individuals as well as closely held businesses across a variety of industries.
